When the shop where I was working in March of 2020 had all of its project's cancelled in a few days when covid hit, I went online to connect with maker communities to see how I could help. I started designing and prototyping a face shield, which over the next many months led to partnerships. I collaborated with IATSE shops such as Object Construction and Goodnight and Company as well as Local 44 in distributing face shields to other union members on the front line, such as the nurses of SEIU. I partnered with the 501(c)(3) Field Ready and were able to start die cutting/stamping the face shields to produce thousands per week. We produced and distributed over 33,000 face shields to health care workers.
RG Diecutting in DTLA stamped the shields
We used the CNC to quickly refine our face shield model
The faceshield was modeled in Rhino then unrolled

All projects shown on this site were created as a team effort, like all great things. I have shown work where I've played a primary role in the completion by providing fabrication design, 3d modeling, drawings, cnc, and construction management. I love figuring out how to build stuff, what I think of as the later phases of design. All concept design shown here was by others. Thanks for visiting my site.
